Де море – в крапельках дощу,
Де можна гратись досхочу.

Hello, dear guests and pupils! It’s nice to see you today. I have some questions for you. Do you like to celebrate festivals? What festivals do you know? Look at the symbols of our today’s festival and name it. Let’s read it together (всі вимовляють хором назву свята) – It’s Halloween!!! Yes, you are right.
Teacher: ( слайд 4)  Halloween is a traditional English holiday, which widely celebrated in the British Isles and the USA.
( слайд 5) It has roots in the Celtic festival of Sambain and the Christian
holiday All Saint’s Day.
( слайд 6) The name Sambain comes from Old Irish and means "summer's end“.  It celebrates the end of the "lighter half“  of the year and beginning of the "darker half",  and is sometimes  regarded as the "Celtic New Year“.
( слайд 7) The ancient Celts believed that  the border between this world and the Other World became thin on Sambain, allowing spirits (both harmless and harmful) to pass through.
( слайд 8)  The word Halloween  comes from All-Hallows-Even ("evening"), that is, the night before All Hallows Day.
And  the phrase All Hallows is found in Old English (ealra hālgena mæssedæg, mass-day of all saints).

Long ago people went to wise old woman called “Witches” to learn about the future. They believed that witches had the power to tell about the future and use magic words to protect people or change them.
There were many beliefs about witches, who are a symbol of Halloween for us. People thought that witches flew on broomsticks to big, secret meetings, where they ate, sang and danced.
Christians tried to stop people from believing in witches, but many uneducated people held onto their belief.

If you have 6 – you get the skull, if you have 5 – body , if you have 3 or 4 – you get the leg and if you have 1 or 2 – you will get arm. If you have the same part of the skeleton, you miss your turn.

They have no eyes and your task is to pin or to stick eyes in the right places. Who wants to try? But you’ll be blindfolded, that is you won’t see the pumpkin. (Two blindfolded children try to stick eyes to the pumpkins stuck on the wall.)
